Socially-minded real estate developer Zócalo Community Development was growing quickly and looking for a meaningful way to demonstrate the company’s commitment to stewardship, integrity and its employees. They were also seeking a way to make a more meaningful impact through their charitable donations and volunteerism.
Barefoot PR worked with Zócalo to create the framework for a signature community initiative that spoke to the company’s desire to be a force for good in the real estate industry and created a positive and uplifting employee experience. Together, we developed the concept for The Zócalo Partnership – a two-year partnership with an employee-chosen nonprofit that leveraged the expertise and people on both sides. Barefoot PR created the criteria for the partnership, drafted the Request for Proposals for nonprofit partners, vetted potential partners, ran the selection process and helped Zócalo communicate the result to employees and key stakeholders. In addition, we provided support and guidance for creation of the employee-run Zócalo Partnership Task Force to ensure the two-year engagement would be richly fulfilling for both Zócalo and the nonprofit partner.
