Igniting a Spark Through Creative Web Design

Our Challenge

DPS Foundation invests in public schools because when students and schools thrive, the community does too. Barefoot PR’s challenge was to showcase information about DPS Foundation’s programs and their impact while maintaining an intuitive user experience. In addition, the site needed to be accessible, modern and easy to edit. Finally, this new design needed to visually connect with all audiences: students, families, educators and donors while representing the brand’s rainbow color scheme.

Our Process

This website inspired us to be creative, bringing us back to being students with notebooks full of doodles. Working closely with the DPS Foundation team, we focused on charm, professionalism, and modernity, playing with bento box layouts and sourcing whimsical illustrations. We also prioritized a clear sitemap and structure.

In addition to being visually intuitive, we prioritized presenting information unique to each audience, such as donors and grantees, so they can easily find what they are looking for.

Key Highlights

  • Improved accessibility
  • A news and events filtering option
  • Simplified user pathways
  • Clear calls to action to ignite a spark as the user explores the site
