Demonstrating the Lifechanging Impact of Scholarship Through Video

Our Challenge

Each year, the Daniels Fund hosts a dinner event to celebrate the new cohort of scholars who have each received a life-changing 4-year college scholarship. The Daniels Fund team had a tight timeline of about six weeks and hoped to have an inspirational video to open the 2023 event. They wanted to honor Bill Daniels’ legacy and feature students and alumni who could demonstrate how the scholarship changed their lives. They also wanted to set the tone for the evening, building excitement for the presentation of the 2023 scholars.

Our Process

  • Strategy Session to fine tune the vision
  • Creative Brief & Video Outline to guide production
  • Pre-Production prep to ensure interviewees felt confident
  • Comfortable environment on set

Our Solution

With no time to waste, we began the project with a brainstorming session to determine the vision for the video and which students could provide diverse perspectives about the scholarship. From there, we scheduled our shoot day with the scholars and worked on a series of thoughtful questions to inspire compelling responses during their interviews.

While filming,  we created an encouraging atmosphere for the students, who were all a little nervous about being on camera. We also filmed “hero shots” of each scholar in various spaces throughout the iconic Daniels Fund building to allow their personalities to shine.

The result was an inspirational, story-driven video that kicked off an uplifting and unforgettable night for the scholars.

Key Highlights

  • Quick turnaround
  • Compelling and emotional narratives
  • Ethical storytelling
  • Collaborative editing process
