How Video Storytelling Turned Crisis into Community Action
Our Challenge
The Action Center is a Denver Metro area nonprofit that connects people to immediate assistance, resource navigation and capacity-building services. In 2025, the Action Center faced unprecedented operational pressures. Federal funding cuts had slashed USDA food donations by half, eliminating 15,000 pounds of essential meat and dairy products monthly. With nearly 300 households seeking assistance daily and SNAP reductions looming in 2026, the organization needed to raise $50,000 before Labor Day to fill urgent gaps while maintaining their mission as the Denver Metro area’s largest basic needs provider.
Our Solution
We partnered with the Action Center team to develop and launch a multi-channel digital campaign that centered around email outreach and social media video content to reach both existing supporters and new donors. Our “Meet the Moment” campaign included personalized storytelling that connected federal policy impacts to real community need, short-form video content humanizing the Action Center’s mission and demonstrating daily impact, and behind-the-scenes footage showing volunteers and staff serving 300 households daily. We also incorporated urgency messaging tied to the Labor Day deadline and leveraged a matching gift from a longtime donor to inspire supporters to contribute.
Results
The “Meet the Moment” campaign exceeded expectations, raising $100,000 by the Labor Day deadline – double the original $50,000 goal.
