Beyond Music Education: Repositioning Youth on Record’s Evolution

Our Challenge

Since 2008, Youth on Record has been empowering Denver’s youth by providing free music-centered programs and education. As the organization has grown, its impact has expanded, requiring messaging that reflects its core work while honoring its evolving and innovative nature.

Our Solution

Selected as one of Barefoot PR’s 2025 pro bono projects, we repositioned Youth on Record from a music education program to a youth development organization that uses the arts as a pathway to a holistic, adaptive approach to meeting community needs. We reinforced this narrative through program-based messaging pillars that anchor Youth on Record’s work and highlight the value of partnership and collaboration: empowering, resourcing and shaping the leaders of tomorrow, while also strengthening and defining the future of the local entertainment industry.

Results

Increased awareness and credibility among key stakeholders through mission-aligned messaging, highlighting Youth on Record’s expertise in youth development and the strength of its community partnerships.

Expanded perceptions around Youth on Record’s impact by clearly communicating organizational priorities and areas of work.
