Modernizing a Historic Brand and Website for the Next 100 Years

Our Challenge

Operating for over 100 years, the A.V. Hunter Trust is Colorado’s oldest private foundation, funding mostly rural grantees with warm approachability but little fanfare. A.V. Hunter Trust wanted a more modern website with improved clarity to help potential grantees quickly determine if they qualify, and saving time for those who don’t.

Our Solution

Our team first refreshed A.V. Hunter Trust’s brand by softening the edges of the historic look and feel and applying a warmer color and font treatment to modernize the mark. We then reworked the grant categories to make verbiage easier to understand, and provided clear entry points to each on the homepage. We prompted users with interactive content during the application process and provided visual prompts to provide clarity for new grantees.

The ultimate result is a welcoming, user-friendly site that considers load time for rural users while still maintaining a look and feel that can carry the organization into the future.
