OurChallenge
As a result of strategic planning, the Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County (ECPAC) identified confusion about its work and place in the community. For 15+ years, ECPAC served as a collaborator, but recognized a need to bring more partners from different sectors to the table to create an effective early childhood ecosystem in Adams County, CO.
Following a competitive RFP process, ECPAC selected Barefoot PR to:
- Clearly define the organization’s differentials and clarify its benefits to four key audiences.
- Train the board and staff to apply the organization’s new messaging to help ECPAC expand its reach.
OurSolution
First, we helped ECPAC narrow down and group its priority audiences. We also identified three specific outcomes the organization wanted to achieve through communications.
Next, we got to know ECPAC through facilitated discussions with key staff, board members, childcare providers and other partners. We also completed a communications audit and a landscape analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in ECPAC’s messaging.
We delivered a research-based and user-friendly Messaging Platform that defined four key positioning statements for ECPAC, as well as the organization’s benefits to parents and families, medical and mental health professionals, teachers and community leaders. We also developed a Voice & Tone Guide to help ECPAC relate to different groups.
Finally, we trained ECPAC’s staff and board to use the Messaging Platform to help ECPAC reach its communications goals. In addition, we provided one-on-one coaching to help the organization’s executive director apply the Messaging Platform to social media, public speaking and policy and influencer engagement.
