Designing a Hole-in-One Brand

OurChallenge

JDRF, the world’s largest nonprofit funder of type 1 diabetes research, partnered with Barefoot PR to design a logo, branding and partnership collateral for its 2024 Colorado Cures Classic Golf Tournament. The event brand needed to elevate the event as a top-tier national tournament hosted at the Broadmoor, a venue visited by the PGA senior tour. The new brand also had to adhere to JDRF’s national brand standards.

 

OurSolution

Barefoot PR began the design process by conducting a listening and learning strategy session to understand the tone and needs of the event, the history of JDRF, and the organization’s national brand standards.

Our designer was inspired by the organic shapes, vibrant colors and incredible vintage fonts and patterns from the world of golf. In addition, she worked to include JDRF’s mission to fund T1D research into the fabric of the brand. 

From nods of pencil marks on a scorecard to pancreas-shaped golf greens, the JDRF Colorado Cures Classic logo and brand is vibrant, playful and engaging. The logo badge is a mix of professional and classic, with a palette of greens, yellows, blues, and beige, inspired by the courses their donors will gather to golf on at The Broadmoor.
